Anawangin Cove: The Right Decision

"My dream is to have a house on the beach, even just a little shack somewhere so I can wake up, have coffee, look at dolphins, be quiet and breathe the air."
-Christina Applegate

the recent trip to Anawangin cove was one of the trips i haven't put too much effort on when it comes to planning. it was just out of curiosity, the need to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and stresses at work that pushed me to search random getaway on Google. the initial plan was Puerto Galera. then Batangas. just when i thought we agreed on Antipolo, a search result of Anawangin cove made it all change.

few keyboard clicks later, kaladkad tours came on my screen. i made a quick chat with friends, inquiring their thoughts and approval. then a decision was made, F.I.N.A.L.L.Y.

after an arrangement with kaladkad tours, we were set to leave by 6am on a Saturday after our shift. our van picked us up and the three-hour trip to zambales began. we bought food for breakfast from the nearest fastfood and ate it in the van so no time's wasted. after a few asaran and hagalpakan sa tawa moments, lack of sleep and the smoothness of the trip, we dozed off. thank God for the wonders of NLEX.

'chura ng mga tulog!heheh

we arrived at Pundaquit, Zambales three hours later. our driver parked and told us to drop by their public market where we can buy all we need. 1300php later, we're back with all the things at least we have on our list that we scribbled two hours ago. sobrang walang kaplano-plano!hahaha..

we then headed to the beach where our van will wait for us til our return the next day. the boat that will take us to the cove was already waiting for our arrival.

arriving at Anawangin cove
first group pic taken after everyone's settled.

and then we have these...

Amazing that the place only have pines for trees.
this constructed walkway will lead you to the woods where more campers nestled. the earlier you arrive, the bigger chance you getting a camping spot there. our group was happy with our spot by the beach front for obvs security reasons: malapit lang kasi sa mga nagbabantay.

we decided to check the place after we had our late lunch. 2:30pm na ata yun.

mirror. a trip will never be complete without one.

can't help but swing. kahit di kanila. did you guys ask for permission?

mahiga tulog.

we all agreed and climbed the tempting but dangerous slope. good thing after all the persistence and pushing ourselves to go on, we were catered by this.

including me, these gals made it . obvs, enjoying the moment.
no campers here.
ang tindi pa nung grupo who pushed to still climb that higher portion of the mountain. we did not go on since it is starting to drizzle. wawa ang dslr.
mommy zeena by the sunset. :)
as dusk begins to envelope the cove, the more you get to feel how disconnected you are from the world. truly the place provides you the solace you need in order to become the person you used to be. we only had our phone's music player and a portable speaker as our companion for the night. we had dinner and started our little socials by the bonfire after. we had plans of staying up late but our tired carcasses beg for the much needed rest. we felt as though the place cooperates as the rain started pouring. we run for covers and decided to call it a day.
most unexpected trips are likely the ones that gets realized.you'll not be able to select people to go with you and share the experience, what's important is that making each trip worthy with who you are with at that moment.

My next post will be regarding our Capones Island tour. :)
