Ilocos Trip in Pictures pt. 3

our second day officially started by waking up early hoping to take a glimpse of the rising sun in the east. we hurriedly went down, trailing on rice paddies and marvel at the vastness of the fields which the community have cultivated for maybe good years.

after having a hearty breakfast and some last minute preparations, we're all set to start our day and we know its gonna be a long one. we made a short stop at the community's parish with its bell tower proudly standing and braved an earthquake in the 80's as told by our tour guide/driver. So strong that some of its tip made its way to the ground.

we then proceeded to Cape Bojeador Lighthouse located in Burgos, Ilocos Norte. a couple of tourists were already there when we arrived. from the top, you will be treated with a breathtaking view. lush greens as a  backdrop and the stone wonder fronting south china sea.

we stayed for good thirty minutes, checked the area, took pictures but sadly forgot to climb the tower. it was only later that we found out it is allowed. fax sheet.

the trip going to kapurpurawan rock formation was smooth that I could shuteye any second. kudos to their government's effort in building decent roads. wish EDSA will follow suit.
its almost you're in a different dimension
i just cant stop myself from checking the clear water. and linaw, sobra.
this shot of them, i love!

this is part of a movie set shot here.

it was tad too hot when we trail back to our van and both thirst and hunger strikes. funny though, there's a vendor or two selling us ice candies. nkaya lang ni ate ang init. tirik na tirik na ang araw. kudos again to whoever oversees the area for putting up a decent toilet.

we made a short stop at a local school's eatery just by the road to eat. we scored pansit batil patong, a tuguegarao, cagayan specialty. on how to cook this delicious meal check it here. we rested a bit begging at the mercy of the shade where our table was purposedly situated.

when we're back on the road and found out that next off our list will be the famous Bangui windmills, we just cant wait to check all 20 70-meters high charmers.
this was taken from a deck. industrial fans, anyone?

this rainbow decided to peek that we excitedly pose before its gone in a heartbeat.
i swear the wind's just too extreme . the sands made its way to our faces that you need to squint but dedma a picture is necessary, HEHE.

after the windmill experience, we need to bid adieu and hurriedly head for our last stops. the sky is gloomy and we knew it is in the exact area where the last stops are. bigla kami nalungkot but we need to check it ourselves. medyo malayo-layo ang Pagudpod ha and we jokingly assumed where/why it got its name. PAGUDPOD = PAGOD+PUDPOD. pagod ka na kasi malayo, pudpod pa puwet mo. LOL!

Pagudpod arch.
you can actually see that in this picture of the Patapat viaduct, it was really raining. when i took this picture i had to bring an umbrella and a towel to cover my dslr from the unforgiving rain.
Paraiso ni Anton.  Believed to be miraculous that when you drink from it you will be healed.
I took this on our way back to get to Blue Lagoon.

we paid 50/pax entrance fee and head to the beach which i am not excited anymore. the rain didn't stop. the beach, despite the weather, live up to its name. sorry i've no photos of it since i didn't gamble my camera anymore. we just stayed for an hour and head home. we have plans of staying the whole night but i guess that didn't fall into place, huh?

getting home is i guess the nicest part. we had a great day and surely enjoyed each place to bits. we are looking forward how our final day in Ilocos will become. that night, a bottle of vodka and some beers were shared along with stories and laughter that died in the stillness of the night.

watch out for my final post of this Ilocandia series! :)
